Protection against discrimination at the LUH

Discrimination of any kind represents a violation of people's personal rights and is not tolerated at Leibniz Universität Hannover.

What does discrimination mean?

Discrimination means disadvantage, exclusion, devaluation, (sexual) harassment or violence in connection with one or more protected characteristics. The General Act on Equal Treatment (AGG) names the following features that are worthy of protection:

  • Ethnic origin or race

  • Gender and gender identity

  • Religion/belief

  • disability/chronic illness

  • Age

  • Sexual identity
